  • 1 1/2 tbsp Fresh Ginger Grated
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Crushed and Chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder
  • 3 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika You can use chilli powder or Cayenne Pepper.
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan Rock Salt
One-Pot Butter Chicken Sauce
  • 250 ml Cream Thickened Cream works best
  • 3 tbsp Melted Butter
  • 400 ml Diced tomatoes 1 Tin
  • 50 ml Tomato Paste
  • 2 tsp Honey Alternatively 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Himalayan Rock Salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C
  2. Marinade the Chicken - Mix the all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl and then marinade the drumstick in the mixture. Ensure that the drumsticks are fully coated in the marinade. For a more developed flavour marinade the drumsticks overnight.
  3. Mix the ingredients for the sauce in a large baking dish. Place the Drumsticks in the dish. Be sure to get all of the leftover marinade into the banking dish as well.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes, Basting the exposed parts of the drumstick every 5 minutes for the last 15 minutes of the cook time. When the chicken is cooked, remove the drumsticks and return the dish to the oven for 5 more minutes. This will thicken the sauce. If the sauce is thick enough this step is unnecessary.
  5. Serve on Basmati rice. Poppadums make a nice addition to the eating experience as well.
